Relationship between Various Characteristics & Attitudes of Nursing Students before Entrance and Attitudes toward Nursing Profession after Entrance of Seoul National University.
The main purpose of this study is to determine whether there are significant relation. ships between various characteristics and attitudes of nursing students before entrance and attitudes toward nursing profession after entrance of Seoul National University. Subjects of this study are 238 nursing students of Seoul National University. The data is analyzed by Chi square test and percentage.
The results significant at or below 0.05 level are as follows :
Those who have participated in school health activities as an extra-curricular activity at high school are more likely to leave nursing than those who have not.
There is significant relationship between reasons for selecting nursing as her career and rate of hoping transfer to other field.
That is, those who selected nursing for such reason as "Mission given to myself," "Working opportunity for the welfare of others," or "Meeting people from all walks of life," are less likely to leave nursing than those who selected "Excellent preparation for being a housewife," "Many opportunities to go abroad," or "Job available anywhere without difficulty."
Those who have read University bulletin gain more information about obligation system than those who have not.
